The agreement between you and Vangas Apps for using our apps and website.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the mobile applications, websites and services provided by Vangas Apps ("we", "us", "our"), including The Vangas Vault (collectively, the "Services"). By downloading, accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Services for your own lawful, non-commercial purposes. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

The Services surface publicly available declassified and archival documents (for example, materials from the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency FOIA reading room via the Internet Archive) and AI-generated summaries, analyses and translations. This content is provided for research, educational and informational purposes only. AI-generated output may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not be relied upon as fact, legal, or professional advice. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness or authenticity of any document or generated content.
The Services — including their design, branding, logos, text, graphics and software (but excluding underlying public-domain source documents) — are owned by Vangas Apps and are protected by intellectual property laws. "Vangas Apps" and "The Vangas Vault" names and logos are our trademarks. You may not use them without our prior written consent. Source documents remain subject to their own terms and public-domain or archival status.
The Services rely on and link to third-party providers (including the Internet Archive and our AI processing provider) and may link to external websites. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third party. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VANGAS APPS AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS OR USD $50.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vangas Apps from any claims, damages, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Services or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
You may stop using the Services at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or to protect the Services. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability) will survive.
We may modify or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; when we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Vangas Apps is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
If you download an app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use is also subject to that store's terms. For Apple-distributed apps: these Terms are between you and Vangas Apps only, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries entitled to enforce these Terms against you.
